Diabetes Alert Day is on Tuesday, March 26, 2019
More than one million North Carolinians have either prediabetes or diabetes. Diabetes is the 7th leading cause of death in the state and is a leading cause of stroke, blindness and kidney failure. To bring awareness to the importance of diabetes testing, we are asking North Carolinians to take the Diabetes Risk Test to find out if they are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Although Diabetes Alert Day is a one-day event, the Diabetes Risk Test and Diabetes Alert Day Toolkit is available every day. Test yourself and visit a health care provider if you discover that you are at risk for diabetes or prediabetes.
